Issue No. 8

It is almost time for May flowers!

So here it goes, round 8.

But first- a favorite recent patient quote:

“BANANAS ARE A DELICACY.”

(R)eading: We have been enjoying watching all of you (who came to our office recently) give a few moments of your life to learning about medicinal plants from the Healing Herbs Card Deck by Gift Republic. Each card has a different kind of plant and a few ways that the specific plant can help heal our bodies, along with how to bring aid to different kinds of feelings we experience.

(E)ating: We have been enjoying Truvani’s Plant Based Protein Powder. It has simple ingredients and hits the spot with the recommended pairing of water. Don’t have a shaker bottle? It blends beautifully in a glass mason jar. Don’t forget to pop on the lid before you shake it (we may or may not have learned that detail from personal experience).

(P)laying: One of us has been talking about re-connecting with the fun and nature of watercoloring. It is a nice activity to lean into and try because one can’t be perfect when it comes to watercolors.. It helps with letting go and just being.

Is there a creative activity you have missed and would like to reconnect with?

(O)bsessing: We have been obsessing over adding more movement into our work day. We like to think of them as “movement snacks.” Lately that has looked like doing 5 push ups or air squats (any bodyweight movement) after going to the bathroom. It is weirdly fun.

What is your movement of choice?

(R)ecommending: We recommend you find a few lyrics from a song with a beat you love and belt it out whenever you are feeling overwhelmed or frustrated. It does wonders. One of us may or may not sing “Let it Go” in times such as that…and also doesn’t know any other lyrics from the song beyond that.

(T)reating: We gave these guys a try and think they are super duper delicious.

We hope your month ahead is full of all the sprouts and blooms!
