Q&A
Do you only treat a specific type of patient?
What they tend to have in common is that they want to be more intentional about their health. Some are trying to solve a problem that has been getting in their way. Others are noticing changes in energy, weight, focus, sleep, strength, or resilience. And some feel great today and want to do what they can to keep it that way.
You don't need to fit a particular diagnosis or profile. You simply need to be ready to make your health a priority and want a clear path forward.
Do I need to have something “wrong” to work with Coordinates?
No. In fact, we would much rather see you before something goes wrong.
Health care doesn't have to begin with a diagnosis. You may want more energy, better sleep, improved body composition, greater physical capacity, clearer thinking, or simply confidence that you're taking care of the things that will matter five, ten, or twenty years from now.
Sometimes the goal is to solve a problem. Sometimes it's to protect what you already have. Both are good reasons to start.
What kinds of concerns bring people to Coordinates?
Often, it's not one dramatic problem. It's the accumulation of smaller changes that have started affecting daily life.
Weight has slowly crept up. Energy isn't what it used to be. Sleep is less reliable. Workouts aren't producing the same results. Finding the right words takes a little longer. Stress or anxiety is taking up more space than it should. Hormonal changes are making the body feel unfamiliar. Or life has simply become so busy that personal health has repeatedly moved to the bottom of the list.
Other patients come because they're doing well and want to stay ahead of potential problems.
The starting points are different. The common goal is to feel capable, present, and confident in the direction their health is going.
Why does Coordinates work with patients through programs instead of one-time visits?
Because we're not trying to give you one good appointment. We're trying to help you create meaningful change.
Health rarely changes in a straight line. A good plan needs enough time to be implemented, evaluated, adjusted, and measured. What looks right on paper isn't always what works best for a particular person.
Our programs give us the runway to stay involved as your health changes rather than handing you a list of recommendations and sending you on your way.
The goal is for you to finish your program in a meaningfully different place from where you started.
How long should I expect to work with Coordinates?
Our initial programs are generally structured around 3, 6, or 12 months.
The right amount of time depends on where you're starting, what you want to accomplish, and how much change needs to happen between those two points.
A focused goal may require a shorter runway. More substantial changes in health, body composition, physical capacity, or long-standing concerns often deserve more time. And some people want a comprehensive approach that looks beyond today's concerns toward how they want to be functioning years from now.
You don't need to determine the timeline yourself. We'll recommend the level of involvement we believe makes sense for your goals.
What can realistically change in 3, 6, or 12 months?
More than most people realize—but the type and degree of change depend on where you begin.
Three months can provide enough time to establish direction, make focused changes, and begin seeing measurable movement. Six months gives us considerably more runway to build on those changes, reassess progress, and work toward more substantial goals. Twelve months allows us to look at your health as a longer trajectory—not simply solving today's concern, but building toward how you want to feel and function in the years ahead.
We won't promise a particular result by a particular date. What we can do is establish where you are now, define where you want to go, and recommend a realistic path for getting there.
How will we know if what I'm doing is actually working?
We measure.
Depending on your goals, that may include tools such as DEXA body composition, VO₂ Max, Resting Metabolic Rate, laboratory testing, or other objective measures that help us establish your starting point and evaluate change over time.
But the numbers aren't the destination. They're there to answer an important question: Are the decisions we're making actually moving you toward the life you want?
You should be able to see progress not only in your data, but in your day-to-day life—how you feel, think, move, perform, recover, and show up for the people and responsibilities that matter to you.
What happens after I reach my initial goals?
Reaching your initial goal doesn't mean you have to go back to managing your health alone.
Once you've completed an initial program and are established with Coordinates, membership options are available for patients who want an ongoing relationship with our team.
For some people, that means maintaining what they've accomplished. For others, it's continuing to work toward the next goal, periodically reassessing important health markers, or simply having a trusted resource who already knows their history and can help them make good decisions as life and health change.
The intensive work may not always be necessary. Having direction can be.
Does Coordinates Health Care accept insurance?
Coordinates Health Care does not bill insurance for our programs.
Our model is intentionally structured differently from traditional, insurance-based care. Rather than building your care around individual reimbursable visits, we build a program around what you want to accomplish and the time we believe is necessary to get there.
Some outside laboratory testing, imaging, prescriptions, or other medical services may be eligible for insurance coverage depending on your individual plan. HSA or FSA funds may also be available for eligible health care expenses.
We are always happy to explain what is included before you make a decision.
I know I want something to change, but I don’t know what I need. Where do I start?
That’s exactly where you’re supposed to start.
You don’t need to know which program you need, which tests to order, or what the solution is before you come to us. Figuring out the right next move is part of our job.
Your MAP Session gives us the opportunity to understand where you are now, what isn’t working, what you want your health and life to look like, and what may be standing between the two.
From there, we’ll recommend a path forward.
You don’t need to have the plan. You just need to be ready for one.
