Issue No. 16

The wind has been mighty strong this month and the temperatures have been cold. It is dark and the holiday seasons can be full of so much fun, togetherness, and laughter, and can also hold a lot of pain, grief and disappointment for others.

We see you.

So here it goes, round 16…

But first- a favorite recent patient quote:

“IT IS THE THICK GUNK. THE KIND OF GUNK THAT SETTLES IN LIKE YOUR IN-LAWS AT CHRISTMAS.”

(R)eading: Dr. O highly recommends Cranberry Christmas by Harry and Wende Devlin. It is one of her favorite childhood Christmas books and she continues to bring it out and read it each year. The illustrations are lovely and it has an underlying theme of not giving up in the face of adversity. It also has a fun read aloud on YouTube.

(E)ating: Squash are still in season and have been pairing well with our extra cold weather lately. This incorporates acorn squash and hits the spot. It is one of those recipes that requires a little prep and then the magic happens in the oven while you tend to other tasks or prop your feet up to read a book while you wait.

(P)laying: One of us recently tried a block printing class put on by Blaine’s Art. It was a good reminder that being new at something can be both fun and challenging. If you want to try something new and support a local business, we highly recommend taking a look at their art classes.

(O)bsessing: We have been obsessing over getting the office decorated for Christmas and have enjoyed having the twinkle lights add in some extra coziness. Check out one of our recent posts on Instagram for proof.

Do you decorate and get cozy, too?!

(R)ecommending: We recommend not taking things too seriously, whatever it is. There is still a lot of good happening out there and a lot of us could use a lighter load, especially when it comes to the things we harbor and add on ourselves.

It will be okay, you are okay.

(T)reating: We vote you treat yourself to one of our Winter Wellness Packs, they are a hit and have been well loved by many of you. They make a great gift for the human in your life who might need a little immune boost with the gunk that winter can bring along.

We hope your days ahead have some cozy feels mixed into them!
