Issue No. 22

Summer is officially here and farmers markets are in full swing.

So here it goes, round 22…

But first- a favorite recent patient quote:

“I LIKE WORKING WITH SOMEONE ON MY HEALTH INSTEAD OF WORKING WITH SOMEBODY WHO IS WAITING FOR MY HEALTH TO FALL APART.”

(R)eading: We have been reading recipes here, there and everywhere about sprucing up sparkling water! The latest and greatest has been to add in a few drops of fruit pulp vinegar. The Oil and Vinegar store in town has a variety of options to choose from.

(E)ating: Do you usually throw out pickle juice once all of the green guys are gone? Don’t! It can be used for good. Check out this fun recipe for Dill Dip. It is great with raw veggies, along with roasted chickpeas or tofu via a flatbread scooper.

(P)laying: It is that time of year when playing with food is fun, especially fresh finds from local farmers markets. This is a love nudge to remember to get out there and try something new, old or different while supporting a local human while doing it. If you live in Anchorage, this Farmers Market Guide is helpful and here is one for the whole state of Alaska.

(O)bsessing: We have been obsessing over the Moroccan Hummus Bowl from Organic Oasis. It is both refreshing and filling. They often have live music to enjoy, too, if you plan to dine in.

(R)ecommending: We recommend signing up for a Vitamin D-3 or B-12 Injection from our comfy suite space with mountain views. We know that summer can get extra busy and also feel a little more overwhelming than restful. Both injections combat brain fog, fatigue and muscle weakness. Schedule an appointment here.

(T)reating: We vote you treat yourself to a one hour time block of a leisurely walk in the woods this week, unplugged. You won’t regret it!

We hope your July has some good belly laughs in it!
