It has been a bit rainy lately but the sunshine seems to show itself right when we need it.
But first- a favorite recent patient quote:
“WOW, LOOK AT YOUR VIEWS!”
(R)eading: Would you like to laugh more? We highly recommend giving a book written by Patrick F. McManus a read. He is known for being an American educator and humor writer, largely writing about the outdoors. Most of the books he has published have mini stories per chapter and make for a fun read aloud with family and friends at home, around a camp fire or even during a bathroom pit stop.
(E)ating: This Quinoa Crunch Salad with Peanut Dressing Recipe is gold and the dressing can truly be used for anything. You might think it is strange to add mango in with all of the chopped veggies but don’t skip it, it’s a necessary ingredient.
(P)laying: One of us recently played outside on the Eagle and Symphony Lakes trail to fulfill the “Tried a New (to me) Trail” square on Skinny Raven Sport’s 2026 Summer Bingo Card. It was a beautiful spot and crossing over the boulder field is a must. We vote you pack a yummy meal and make a fun day out of it. It’s also a great starter spot for backpacking.
(O)bsessing: We have been obsessing over one of our own, Thomas Bailly, completing The Tour Divide earlier this month! In case you didn’t know, it’s an ultra distance, self supported mountain biking race that starts in Banff, Canada and ends in Antelope Wells, New Mexico (2,745 miles). Check out all of his data here. We are SO proud of him and secretly miss checking in on his live tracker everyday.
(R)ecommending: We recommend you make your way to Seldovia, Alaska one of these summer or fall days. If it is not in the books for you this year, it would be worth planning for in 2027. It is a beautiful place with such a fun community. One of us experienced the musical tunes coming from Songs on the Slough, a yearly event that brings everyone together.
(T)reating: : When was the last time you tried a new food item that is generally considered a staple, like pasta? We vote you treat yourself to trying a new noodle variety. The New Sagaya City Markets in town have a great selection of fun pastas and even have locally made options, too.
