Summer is inches away and we have had some promising weather to prove it!
But first- a favorite recent patient quote:
“MY CHEESE HAS SLID OFF MY CRACKER.”
(R)eading: Body Kindness: Transform your Health from the Inside Out- and Never Say Diet Again, written by Rebecca Scritchfield, is worth a read. We spend a lot of time critiquing and desiring change for our bodies. There is a whole lot that our bodies do for us, and learning how to show ourselves kindness is worth the effort and the practice.
(E)ating: We 100% encourage you to eat pasta! It is one of the oldest, simplest foods around. And- a love nudge to remember that carbs are friends. This series is a fun watch if you are a little skeptical.
Also- tofu bagels, say what?! Dr. O made a lineup of these to have on hand and her husband gave them a 10 out of 10. They can be made to your liking with different spreads and toppings.
(P)laying: We have been enjoying nature bathing. Have you heard of it? It originated in Japan and involves taking the time to slow down while out in nature (or wherever you can be); walking mindfully, engaging the five senses and working towards being present with your surroundings. It is a great way to regulate your nervous system and give your brain space to rebuffer and recharge for life ahead.
This article explains it all really well.
(O)bsessing: Dr. O has been enjoying using this little diddy of a planner each morning to prepare for her day, for both work and personal life.
(R)ecommending: We would recommend giving our Wellness Compass Consultations a look over and if you are already established with us, pass along the information to a friend or family member you think would benefit from one. It is a great way to get in and review results with Dr. O’Connell related to your vaginal microbiome or micronutrient deficiencies without having to commit to a larger membership plan or package! (You can even sign-up for an IV to address those deficiencies, too!)
(T)reating: Treat yourself to a Raaka Mini Bar. And- if you are ever in office for a women’s wellness exam, you will 100% get one (or two) on the way out the door.
